Inspiring Female Architects Pages You Should Follow on Instagram

This post will give the ultimate round-up of some of the best female architects in the field, whose work is just amazing!



A statistic from Dezeen revealed that in 2018, only 10% of high profile jobs at some of the worlds largest architecture firms were occupied by women. Shocking, right?


Well, one of our aims here at Aspiring Creative is to make sure that we combat this by giving you the perfect inspiration and advice you need to make it to the top. We aim to shine a light on the female architects who have achieved some incredible things, and celebrate their achievements through this post.


So, if you're a little stuck for creative inspiration, then look no further. This post will provide you with a round-up of the some of the best female architects you can follow on Instagram, to help inspire you to showcase your talent online, which will no doubt impress employers!




Dara Huang has almost 29k Instagram followers and hosts some very aesthetically pleasing posts both on her website and Instagram. She founded the company Design Haus Liberty in 2013, which has offices based in London and Hong Kong. The company has completed work for some of the worlds biggest brands, which include Super Dry and Kate Spade.


Take a look at some of the companies fantastic projects which include a large selection of gorgeous interiors and exteriors that are either completed or currently in the works. Some of their London based projects include the Greenwich Peninsula and Kensington Forum Hotel.






Gabriela Etchegaray has over 5,300 instagram followers and it is bursting with creative inspiration left, right and centre! These include beautiful posts of different buildings, interiors, people, animals, artwork and nature.


Gabriela studied at Columbia University and was appointed as curator for the Mexican Pavillion in 2018, according to the USC School of Architecture. She is also the co-founder of Ambrosi Etchegaray which was set up in 2011 and is based in Mexico City. Take a look at their creative projects here, which span all the way back to 2012.




The award-winning Amanda Levete CBE is one of the UK's most well-known female architects, and has received mass media coverage including from the Financial Times, The Guardian and the Architects Journal.


Amanda founded AL_A in 2009, along with other directors in the field, which focuses on urban-based projects, according to their website. The website also states their recent projects were the V&A Museum in 2017 and the Central Embassy based in Bangkok, Thailand in 2017.


Their instagram page which is linked above, has over 10,000 Instagram followers, and one post showcases the Jane Drew Prize from the Women in Architecture awards, which Amanda won in 2018.





Frida Escobedo's instagram, which has over 77,000 followers, is just wow. It includes wonderfully minimalistic posts, a range of different buildings, some which are perfectly intact, some which are huge and small structures too. There are also images of interiors, intriguing shape-based structures and wonderful images of the natural world thrown in there too. Her Instagram truly has it all!


According to her website, Frida's practice was founded in 2006 and within her studio, her focus goes beyond the means of traditional architecture, and among other things, includes installations, sculptures, objects and exhibitions.





Jane Duncan, who was the president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, has certainly gone above and beyond in the field of Architecture. Jane founded Jane Duncan Architects and Interiors in 1992 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.


According to the website, Jane's practice focuses on residential projects, community and leisure-based developments, and more.


Their Instagram hosts some great projects to browse through, as well as some great shots of her team's Zoom catch-ups, and some of their outings from previous years!
