A Little Introduction

"My name is Olivia Rowell and I am in my second year of Fashion Communication at Northumbria University."

Olivia's Favourite Part of Her Degree

"I would say the favourite part of my degree is the opportunities we get. Last year we did a live brief with END clothing (endclothing.com). We had to create a detailed study in relation to PR and come up with a concept for a store design setup. I think a live brief is a great taste for what it’s actually like in the industry!"

Plans After University

"After university, I feel that I would love to work in PR or social media. This would involve working with brands, influencers, possibly celebs and multiple social media platforms."

Jasmine's Short Bio

A Little Introduction

"I’m a third year Product Design student at the University of Lincoln, working towards a career in industrial design."

Jasmine's Degree

"I’ve always wanted to be a Product Designer, however I’ve always found it to be very male-dominated. Even in University, I was mostly taught about male designers, which I used to find really discouraging; I think that it’s important for women in male-dominated fields to have other women to look up to and gain inspiration from.

My course enables me to constantly learn new skills and industry standard software, which has been helpful for me to create a portfolio of my work and develop a personal style."

How Jasmine has Enhanced her Skillset

"I’ve been improving my skills with software such as illustrator and rhino to help me to create better renders. In my spare time, I work on my graphic design skills, creating branding and logo designs for other people. I’ve also been improving my sketching skills both on paper and digitally, as well as working on my own personal branding and online presence with sites such as Behance, Instagram and LinkedIn."
